Bush supporters seem to be totally oblivious to the type of precedents that they are supporting for future presidents. The abuse of power that has been engaged in by the Bush administration under the guise of fighting terrorism establishes a very bad template for the future.

But the first poster talks as though he has read the Patriot Act. It is not something you can "read". The Patriot Act is a series of amendments to existing laws, act, and other amendments and by-laws. Thus to "read" the Patriot Act you need to read and understand every law that it affects. Probably an impossible taks for one man alone.
