I used to think that it's good but I just came to know that it has 33g of sugar in a serving that gives 200 calories. Isn't that too much sugar espicially that I think it's considered refined carbs... What do you think?

Eat the Dannon Lite and Fit, it is the low sugar, less than 10 per serving.

Yogurt contributes a healthy bacteria to your system and balances off the bad ones.

If you are looking for a good way to supplement your diet with probiotics, a better source is actually something that is called Kefir. There are benefits to yogurt however you need to ingest the non-flavored yogurt. The Dannon yougurt that you are taking that much sugar is not good for especially since it is refined sugar and not naturally occuring sugar. The difference between Kefir and yogurt is that yogurt contains transient beneficial bacteria that keep the digestive system clean and provide food for the friendly bacteria that reside there. But kefir can actually colonize the intestinal tract, a feat that yogurt cannot match. Kefir contains several major strains of friendly bacteria not commonly found in yogurt, Lactobacillus Caucasus, Leuconostoc, Acetobacter species, and Streptococcus species.

It also contains beneficial yeasts, such as Saccharomyces kefir and Torula kefir, which dominate, control and eliminate destructive pathogenic yeasts in the body. They do so by penetrating the mucosal lining where unhealthy yeast and bacteria reside, forming a virtual SWAT team that housecleans and strengthens the intestines. Hence, the body becomes more efficient in resisting such pathogens as E. coli and intestinal parasites.

Kefir's active yeast and bacteria provide more nutritive value than yogurt by helping digest the foods that you eat and by keeping the colon environment clean and healthy.

Because the curd size of kefir is smaller than yogurt, it is also easier to digest, which makes it a particularly excellent, nutritious food for babies, invalids and the elderly, as well as a remedy for digestive disorders.

I have used it myself and I acutally prefer the taste to yogurt myself.

It's O.K but the best you can do (in the NY area) is the plain Stonyfield or Laughing Cow Yougurt. These are rea;;y far superior. They taste like their cows are eating better grass, clover and what-not. These yogurts contain two different live cultures, and eating the plain (with that delicious yougert cream on top) kind you can much more easily manage your carbs in your daily plan.

I eat a big tub of it at least once every month, often two. D>R>

Ya , i'm thinking the comparable as you're. here is the deal. Yogurt is physically powerful and advertisement sugar, no longer so. So, permit's get the massive field of cultured yogurt that costs so much less in bulk and upload some preserves, as you elect for. i admire marmalade..

All that sugar means more calories and less calcium-rich yogurt.
Since the calcium comes from milk, that means you’re also getting less potassium, magnesium, zinc, etc. Plus, the sweeter the yogurt, the less likely you are to add your own fruit.
