i think it will help cricket in countries where it is not popular but it will certainly spoil the beauty of test matches and ODI's
and will just bring in players with just no technique and temperament and would certainly spoil current players
but i got to agree it WILL be exciting(just for the sake of metal head testosterone overfilled people out there).

While Twenty/20 cricket will be most entertaining as compared to other forms of cricket, it is a game fully loaded
in favour of bowlers. Further it will not give an opportunity to test the technique and efficiency of batsmen and bowlers.
With the introduction of ODI, popularity of test matches has reduced considerably. I do not think Twenty/20 will reduce the popularity of test cricket any further. It will also not decrease the popularity of ODI.

It is a fun and youthly game and since ODIs and Tests maek you wait for hours, this is just fun. An innings (which usually takes 3 1/2 hrs to finish in ODis) will finish in only 75-80 minutes.
Besides that the match will get over in 2 hrs.
Even though the shorterned overs, the scores still reach 150 and can even reach 200 or 250 with prescense of Australia.
So gear up and watch the exciting match

It will help cricket in other countries where cricket is not as popular as football or soccer.
No one has time to watch 100 overs in a days (ODI) or 5 days (test cricket).

odis consume a whole day...
in dat sense 20-20 is good... its short...
plus all players can improve srike rate (u can't refrain from whacking the ball in 20-20, right...??)

moreover if cricket can take a long form as in test cricket, why not a shorter form as in 20-20??

Personally, I think it is a poor substitute for proper cricket, except that it does attract young people to cricket in UK, so that has to be good for them and for cricket.

it will definitely decrease the popularity of normal cricket. and also it make bit boring since all the teams concentrating on all rounders who can blast well. therefore its difficult to going to find good stylish batsmen or technical bowlers
