theres a strong theory that when moses threatened, the egyption pharoe with natural calamities if he didnt let the iraelites go, there was a polution cloud above egypt, waiting for his answer, if he let them go the cloud would have dispursed out to sea.but he didnt let them go, so the cloud came down on egypt. so the pharoe could have turned back the tyde of disater. do we have the same choice

I wish! Often have I wanted to undo my actions and start again but it doesn't work quite like that. All we can do is go forward and try to put right our mistakes as best we can.

However if certain people in powerful positions were to think more carefully before making decisions that affect many lives the world might be a better place.

With hindsight things are always clearer. Trouble is that comes after the worse is done

The E.U comes to mind when you talk about the pollution cloud, was that your intent Trucker!

I can understand the modern-day analogy and to a degree we all have a responsibility to "turn back the tide of disaster" ... however, until the likes of the USA, China etc. actually alter their ways of thinking in environmental terms, the tiny inpact an individual has on the planet will pale into insignificance. As the advert showing people with tar on their feet to show everyone has a carbon footprint, when the likes of China are swimming in tar, things will never balance.

However .... there does need to be another analogy, one for the simple fact that nature has its own cycles, formed by things way out of our control.

Well a mere man cannot command the tide with his will .This was seen when the Danish born king of England King Canute had his throne carried to the low water-tidal position and he commanded the tides to turn back.........................naturally the tide kept on coming inwards..Legend has it that King Canute did this to prove that even he ,the king didnt have power over the forces of nature..
