Why do you hang on to them? When was the last time you used your "good China."

Ally my stuff has been in storage for four years, since I am technically homeless.

I miss it so much - my elephant collection, the ones my son broke when he was 8 months old and made a clean sweep of them on his first time walking and lurging across the room to get to those suckers that had been tempting him for so long --

The clay something my daughter made for me in grade 2, its brown and has long teeth :-) The other things she gave me, a crystal angel, a Japanese glass box candle holder - because I like things Asian.

All the stuff from my travels, my books, my crystal, my best xmas dishes, my paintings, and photographs, it ALL means something to me, everything has a precious memory attached to it.

I wonder if I will ever see it again, have it in my home, be able to look at the mended elephants and the ones my son buys me every year at xmas and smile - look at the framed little glass thing my daughter gave me that has "what is a mom?" written on it ---

The angel my son and DIL gave to me when I made my first trip to China, that said something about protecting loved ones far from home and guiding them back home again ...

Its not STUFF, its love ....... and memories

My cook books, and photo albums, my dremmel, my power tools, my mouse sander, wood carving stuff, there are more than sentimental things stored, my hobbies are stored away, gathering dust too -- my life is in storage and I miss it !

I used to own over 5,000 vinyl albums but I sold many of them at record shows. I still have around 100 collectible ones though. Some have never been played like all 13 of The Beatles albums. Record stores are getting hard to find. There are a few left in New Orleans but not many.

Yes, I visited my stuff in storage and decided to bring it all home. What wonderful friends I revisited.

Had a great garage sale and sold the rest on eBay.

Said goodbye to 90% of it. Why not, I don't need it. And besides, the money was nice.

Now I have new goodies, though not as many. It's comfy!

Every day as it is all around me. I have already given most of my antiquity to my children and grandchildren, what I have left is out and in use or on display.
