Curl lashes by gently squeezing as close to the base of the lashes for approx ten seconds. When your mascara is FULLY dry you can recurl but make sure you are very gentle and only curl for maybe 3 seconds. The best curlers out there are Shu Uemura and Pout both approx £18. You can squeeze all you want with a cheap pair but it won't make a difference. Heated curlers are only a gimick x

Always curl then apply if not your lashes will look clumpy which is very un-sightly and it make damage your lashes.
To get the best results, always count to 10. First, hold the curler at the base of your lashes, squeeze and count to 10. Then next, the middle portion of your lashes and count to 10. Lastly, the ends of your lashes and count to 10.
This method is used by the Japanese and started by big brands like Shu Uemura.
In this manner you can achieve lovely curled lashes if your are in for a more cute look. If not just curl the base of your lashes. But no matter what, you should try both methods. :D

Curl your eyelashes for a few seconds maybe even 30 then apply mascara. Don't do it the other way like I did one time and ripped out some eye lashes from it sticking to the curler!!!
Good luck ma <3

always curl before you put mascara on!
1.hold the curler as close to the base of your eyelashes as you can.
2.you can either do 4-5 tight squeezes on your eyelashes( with around 1 second between each squeeze)..or.. hold the curler there for 30 seconds but with more relaxed pressure!!
3.For best results repeat this a few times
4. Then put your mascara on as normal !
hope this helped x

Curl the lash and then apply mascara. It should only take a few seconds. For better results, use a curved mascara applicator as well.

Everyone else was correct, curl first, then mascara.
My addition to this is for an even better curl, heat the eyelash curler with the hairdryer for a few seconds. Don't let it get too hot, and be very careful when you then curl so you don't burn yourself, but it gives an amazing curl.

Apply to clean dry lashes as close to the base as you can get them. Squeeze for a few seconds! Easy! Then apply mascara.
