This has happened 3 or 4 times in the past month and I am getting concerned. I wake up in the middle of the night, coughing. I end up vomitting, but not a whole lot, (sorry to be so descriptive) but about a mouthful. It is pinkish in color, no matter what I ate previously. I have no warning when I go to sleep that it is going to happen. Sometimes it is within an hour after I go to sleep, other times it is hours. Please help. What can I do to alivate this. Right now, it is 5 in the morning and it just happened. All of this is accompanied by burning in my throat, but no heart burn. I tried taking some Pepto, rinsing my mouth out, and smoking a cigarette. My throat still burns as if someone poured acid in it.

Don't waste anymore time. Get to the doctor immediately. If you are vomitting "pinkish" then there could be bleeding internally. Regardless, this coughing and vomitting needs diagnosed and treated to prevent worse health problems down the road, such as esophageal cancer.

How can we have a serious answer when that is such a ridiculous question? (I think an ulcer isn't your only problem). Of course that won't work, your stomach will digest it within 3-4 hours. Not to mention there's no way of making the roll up cover your ulcer. And even if you could magically put the fruit roll up on the ulcer, you'd have to eat like 6 or 7 a day which would get expensive. If you are so poor, go to the local health departement for care.

Could be acid reflux/GERD. You might want to get that checked out. Doc can write you an Rx for an antacid. Does this sound like you?

How Do People Know They Have GERD?
Often, people who have GERD notice that they regularly have the pain of heartburn in the chest or stomach — and their heartburn can last up to a couple of hours. Lots of people who have GERD notice their heartburn is worse after eating.

Regurgitation is also a sign that a person may have GERD, although, like heartburn, occasional regurgitation is common for everyone. (Regurgitation is when food and liquid containing stomach acid comes back up into the throat or mouth.)

Other symptoms of GERD include:

a sore, raw throat or hoarse voice
a frequent sour taste of acid, especially when lying down
a feeling of burping acid into the mouth
trouble swallowing
a feeling that food is stuck in the throat
a feeling of choking that may wake them up
a dry cough
bad breath

Sounds like acid reflux to me. I had ulcers, and it doesn't sound like ulcers at all. You could sure do without the cigarette, though...

Oh, to help the problem, the easiest and cheapest way would be to consult your pharmacist, and he will advise you what to take. Pharmacists are available and free, two things a doctor isn't! :D

Please visit your Doctor. I had/have acid reflux and these are not the symptons for that.
