i'm really bad at getting presents for people because i never know what they like. my best friend's birthday is up, but i don't know what to get her. i know all the kinds of things she likes, but she shops so much that she has everything she wants. what else can i get her? "the thought that counts" doesn't really count because she always gets me the most perfect gifts that i love, and i feel like i need to do the same for her.

about her? hmm... she dislikes things with expensive names, she thinks giftcards are thoughtless, she literally buys all the things she likes on the spot, she doesn't wear jewelry, we go to restaurants probably three times a week anyway. i don't know, there's just too much pressure!

Take her out to dinner, or to a concert or something like that. If she already buys everything she needs, just find something fun to do together.

Maybe you could make something for her. She couldn't have bought that. Do you make jewelry? You could make her a bead necklace. Just visit a bead store if you need instructions. Maybe there is another craft that you enjoy. Think about what she likes and how you could make something that would fit her style and preferences perfectly. Or give her a special box to hold some of her special things. Maybe even a music box.

well ian since we on y! answer dont know ur friend its really difficult for anyone to make a good guess that can be Best for ur friend. All i do like to suggest you that if u consider someone your best friend u will automatically find that you already know his/her taste. Keep your gift simple yet touching full of passion and emotion. believe me ur friend will love that gift and for that matter whatever u give as a gift.
It's not the gift that matter, what matter more the emotiion and feeling with which you present that gift.

hahaha well you can get her..
-jewelery ( common she cant own ALL tiffanys!!)
-A bag ( new collection or maybe a limited edition one from her favorite boutique?)
-Shoes... a girl can never have too many of those!! :)
- something personalized
-a wallet
- a watch
if you still dont know what to get, i say go shopping with her and see how she reacts to some stuff.. when people like stuff you can tell they like them... and get it the day later or something!
or u can get her something funny or something got to do with a joke u 2 have .. u know what i mean? OR u can just take her out for a whole day and do all her favorite things with her! i dont think shel ever forget that... if u have the cash u can take her to another city/country

I think give something that gives to others, in her name. I know that I have asked my family to buy me gifts like this several time, and it always gives me a kick. You can buy someone in a third world country a goat, to give them a source of milk, or a well for a village, or an eye operation, etc. For my brother- and sister-in-law a couple of Christmases ago, we vaccinated a whole village (50 kids) in Africa against measles. They were chuffed!

Could you tell us a little about her please? It would help a lot.
I thought the best suggestion was a spa day. If you don't have heaps of $$$ buy her a one hour massage.
If she won't like that maybe you could donate to a charity she really cares about.

Well, if you really know her well then just buy her stuff you think she'd like. Stuff she probably doesn't know about. I dunno, maybe a hard to find book or movie or something.
Or you can give her a picture of the both of you. Stick it in one of those cheap wooden frames and scribble a poem on it. It would be really cute!
