I think dogs are the best. They are fun.
Reasons why in my mind dogs rule over cats.
dogs always love to go places. When say you want to go to the beach. You say come here Spot or whatever name your dog is. Spot comes running and leaps in the car. Then you call WHISKERS WANNA GO TO THE BEACH . MEOOOOWWWW. Oh cmon Whiskers please come??? MEWOOOW SCRATCH . And then you what do you know. Time for some good ol neosporin. Lets say Whiskers is forced into coming with you. Oh spot wanna catch some waves with me!? Spot takes the plunge with you....whiskers do you wanna catch a wave? Just then a gust of mist from a crashing wave collides with whiskers face. MEWOOWWWW.whiskers...where are you going?
One day you want to play frisbee......Spot les play some fetch!! spot joins....Whiskers...do you wanna play frisbee...whiskers just sits on a chair and licks her butt and her tail. Once spot misses a catch and frissbee hits whiskers...."MEOWWWWW".... hey whiskers you didn't even say
bye!!

Bottom line. Cats, although cute, not fun AT ALL . They despise water. They dont play. They fuusabout their box being cleaned. They are prissy. They dont like having fun with their owners. They dont participate in fun activities with you. Only good thing about cats. There cute. They are great pets for laid back lazy people.,they go doodoo in a box.

I like both cats and dogs but I like cats better. In your opinion cats are lazy and never play or go anywhere and that's fine but I love them. Cats might not like to travel as much as dogs do but they love to play. Maybe not in the water or with a frisbee but they like playing with other toys and in their own way. You might think that cats are good for lazy people and they are but they are also for everyone else. I'm very active and if I'm on our tredmail (can't spell that sorry) my cat will run around trying to figure out why I'm not moving (but that doesn't make cats stupid). I think that cats and dogs are both great pets.

I prefer cats as i enjoy relaxing at home. I dont always need for an animal to do everything i say - though i am still the boss. To me there is nothing better than coming home after a crappy day to an enthusiastic greeting from my cat. And to those who think that cats dont like to play, i love to play with my cat. Her favourite toy is a scrunched up piece of paper thrown down the hallway for her to run after. She also loves feathers and boxes! And she keeps me wonderfully warm of a night time.
That is not to say that i don't like dogs, in fact i am soon to adopt a greyhound. I just love each for different reasons and you are right, it is good to have a companion that you can leave the house with too.

Dogs, definately!
1. I'm allergic to Cats
2. Cats don't always want to cuddle
3. Cats don't always want to be petted
4. Big dogs make the greatest pillows EVER! :D
5. Dogs always want to cuddle
6. Most dogs will follow you all over the house and then stop when you stop and want to be petted
7. Dogs make you feel wanted
8. Cats make you feel like servants that are sometimes *allowed* to cuddle or play with them
9. Dogs love you no matter what
10. Dogs would protect your house from intruders
11. Cats would only meow or run up to you and meow if there was an intruder instead of clawing the intruder
12. Dogs will pin an intruder down and bark to get your attention
13. Dogs are great with children and protect them also
14. Dogs could pretty much be nannies
15. Cats claw at children who play with the *pretty kitties!* ears, while dogs lick the kid in the face and make them giggle
16. I have scars from cats clawing me when I was trying to feed my dad's cats
17. The only time a dog will really claw you is when they are REALLY excited to see you.

I have three cats...and i have to make them quit playing...They always wanna sit in my lap...and be petted...or they wanna jump around after a shoestring with something (anything) tied to the end. My four month old can grab their ears or pull their fur and they will just lay there...But i dont have a preference of dogs over cats..i love em both...and when ya have both it can get pretty funny around the house...anyone that says cats arent fun never raised one correctly...

I prefer dogs over cats, but I really don't have a concrete answer why.
However, some of the things you mentioned (especially about cats not being playful) is not true at all. It all depends on the cat's personality. There are two types of cats in my opinion: those that like to snuggle, and those that like to play.
Snugglers only want to sit in your lap and cuddle with you. The playful cats don't want to sit with you at all, but will play with you any chance they can get. It's just a roll of the dice whether you get one type or the other.
