I think it is because people are always to quick to judge others and don't think about what they say, yes you can argue a foetus is innocent and a person convicted of a crime deserves death (which I personally don't agree with) but for me it causes skiffed morals.
The real question is what do those people who are in favour of the death penalty and against abortions think about the women who, for what ever reason, have an abortion, do they see this women as potential murders? And hence deserving of the death penalty?

I am not sure about either personally. I couldn't argue a strong point for or against either is what I mean.
Example - and I am generalising here so please don't be offended. People in certain parts of Africa are told not to use condoms because it is against their religion. So AIDS (well, HIV to start off with, but because there is a very poor medical system in place it would usually turn into AIDS) is spread very easily and children could be born with it. Instead of putting that on your child, I would believe in it then. However, someone who has the access to contraception should generally speaking not be allowed to have an abortion because they could have prevented something they didn't want.
People don't think of all this though. They all see abortion as simple as killing something that hasn't had the chance to live. Where as death penalty is killing someone who had the chance to live but "didn't do it right" .
I can never be too sure on the death penalty either because unless you have ALL the facts and can 100% say "that guy/lass did it" then you COULD be killing someone totally innocent of the crimes they are being put to death for.
For me it's a very tricky one.
Hope this helps !!!

One is a personal choice and the other is a judgement. Its easier to be in favour of something if it's not you making the final decision that a person is recieving the death penalty. An abortion on the other hand is a personal choice which so many other things have to be considered such as religion, family, finances, health and so on. There is no trial and there is no verdict, it's your life which makes the hardest decision of all.

Many people support the death penalty because of fears about killers being released into their communities and because they are not yet aware of the practical problems with the death penalty, or that there is a good alternative.
Some of your answers are wrong about the facts or are ignoring them. I think it is very important to get them out. Here are a few, with sources listed below.
The death penalty risks executing innocent people (124 already exonerated) and DNA is available in less than 10% of all homicides. It is not a guarantee against the execution of innocent people.
No reputable study has shown the death penalty to be a deterrent. In fact, homicide rates are higher in states with the death penalty.
Life without parole is now on the books in 48 states. It means what it says. Supermax prisons are terrible places to spend the rest of your life.
The death penalty can be very hard on families of murder victims. Many murder victim family members across the country argue that the drawn- out death penalty process is painful for them and that life without parole is an appropriate alternative.
The death penalty does not apply to the worst of the worst. It applies to defendants with the worst lawyers.

I don't trust the courts enough to be sure that they are killing guilty people. It's already been shown that you are much more likely to get off with a crime if you are good looking.
I support a woman's right to choose. I do think that alternatives should be discussed and that late termination is wrong. It's not something that should be done as a matter of convenience.
The death penalty is only ever justified for those who are clearly guilty, such as Saddam Hussein. Even then, my own choice would've been to let him end his days in solitary confinement.

As much as many try to tie them together, these are two totally separate and unrelated topics.
Many like to paint with a broad brush and say that "conservatives" are all pro-life and pro-death penalty, while "liberals" are all pro-choice and anti-death penalty.
God help us if we're not just a little more complex than that.
There is no inherent contradiction in being pro-life and anti-death penalty, OR vice-versa.
These are both highly complex issues, and both deserve critical thought and constructive discussion. Unfortunately, both debates all too often devolve into name calling and the citing of bumper sticker slogans.

Very simple. A willful adult killer of a baby deserves death
penalty - in the absolute sense of crime. However, these two
categories should totally be separated,as an abortion may be
justified based on a very serious life-danger for the mother, but
a death penalty may also be justified when there is a life-
danger for further future victims of a serial-killer.

A better question might be why do people who feel that killing is wrong also feel that it is OK to kill the killer. In other words, the issue is not that killing is wrong, it is whom did the killing.
Personally I am pro-choice anti-abortion. I detest the idea of abortion but I detest even more the concept that a woman can be forced into carrying a pregnancy against her will.

im not against or for either of the two subjects. theres all different reasons and arguements and debates behind the two, such as, do you think that a 13yr old girl who is molested by a member of her family and gets pregnant should not have the right to have an abortion?? it could be argued that the baby could be put up for adoption. Or a girl whos 27yrs old is in the prime of a big career she has a one night stand and as a result gets pregnant and has an abortion?? I DONT AGREE WITH THAT
The death penalty has lots of different views on it. I personally have fors and againsts for it. But as it is said we all meet our maker.. its your opinion and you are perfectly entitled to it..
