I was very excited about it. But the day after two teenage boys in the street looked at me very differently like I was a properly grown-up woman and not a teenager anymore, and for the first time I was called "woman" instead of "girl" (i.e. "Let that woman past") by those boys, whereas in all the time before I would have been called "girl" and it felt as though I was no longer in their kind of age group. I noticed from then on that younger people didn't regard me as their 'own kind' anymore and that I was truly a 'grown up' in their eyes/mind, and that had a VERY big effect on me and made me sad to realise I wasn't a 'youngster' anymore in spite of the fact I still felt that way inside.

So you'll really just have to wait and see, as it seems to be other people, not yourself, who will let you know if you've 'grown up' or not.

I think i have 'grown out of' birthdays n feel that there isn't any point in celebrating them as it's not really a 'big deal' becoming a year older (unless of course, you live in a high crime rate area). I prefer to celebrate achievements i.e passing ur driving test/exams, graduation, getting a job etc. Nonetheless, i hope u have a fun day tomorrow!

I had my 23rd in June and I just didn't see the point in getting all excited as it's not like it used to be when you were a kid. Me and my hubby get more excited watching our babies on their b'days and Xmas. And I hate it when everyone asks you..."what do you want" and I'm not fussy, I just don't know. It's not like I'm 6 anymore and just want toys...we all grow up!

I turned 23 last month and I didn't get that excited until the day but it wasn't the same as when I was a kid, I mean when your a kid you want to get older and when your older you wish you was young again!

I hate those people that ask what you want, I mean your hardly going to tell them, it's either to expensive or not enough! Just get me whatever you want, i'll still like it! Plus who knows what they want without thinking about it?! lol

I'm afraid it just doesn't get exciting anymore, even at christmas, especially as i don't get a stocking anymore, it's all got so boring. Theres nothing to play with, it's just oh great a jumper or oh great another candle. I want something to play with.
