This is a question that is complicated to answer without knowing your friend's medical history. A few things to point out though: One, alcohol can cause the body to be dehydrated, which would explain the frequent trips to the restroom. Also as others here have pointed out, accessive drinking can and will do damage to a person's body if it continues for a long period of time. Abuse such as this can also lead to irreversible brain damage! Scary. If your friend is drinking this much on a daily basis, chances are he is an alcoholic. The best way to help him is to get the facts about this disease. I have a support group that can help. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/afamilydiseasesupportgroup/. Education is the best defense against this disease (alcoholism). Good luck!

It may or may not be the alcohol consumption. At minimum the alcohol will only make the problem worse. It could be a parasite or bacterial infection of some sort or something more systemic. It is important for the doctor to know how much he drinks if he is to get the correct treatment. Often times alcoholics will not tell the doctor or minimize the amount of alcohol they drink. This is not a good thing as it could have negative results on the treatment prescribed.

My husband is in recovery so over the last 5 years I have learned so much about alcohol and its effects. If he's only been drinking heavily for a few months, then most likely alcohol isn't the coperet. He could have had something wrong prior to the heavy drinking and now with all of the drinking triggered a serious problem.
Advice/Suggestion: Be a friend. Understand that he MAY have a problem with alcohol and if that is so he may be making whatever is wrong much worse by drinking.

a direct answer? YES, IT IS. his liver can not take in anymore additional toxins because it is now full of alcohol and other bad stuff that's why he keeps on urinating. ask him to look at his urine, is it very thick? does it has an unusual smell already? if it does, then, chances are, he is on the verge of his hepatitis A or B, or his uric acid has shoot up and worse, his SGPT also shoot up. he needs a good doctor and good colon and liver cleansing. i bet he eats lots of meat and that's for sure...and no or little fruits and vegetables... our liver is the filter of our body. if it takes too much toxin, that's what will happen. so, let him stop drinking beer or alcohol. instead let him drink more water from now on...hope this answers your question.

I'm sure it's not the only thing. Someone who drinks that much probably doesn't eat well, exercise enough, or take care of themselves properly in any other way.
I agree - he needs some serious help. Make sure he's honest with the doctor about how much he's drinking, and the other crap he's doing.
Good luck with that. . .

It could be. As you already know he's drinking way outside of the maximum he should be drinking per day, and over time that can mess things up in your body. Try to support him and care for him and I'm sure he'll have a much better chance of making a full recovery if he knows he has comebody caring for him.

whilst it is composed of alcohol and how lots somebody can consume, it is going to astonish maximum folk. each and every person is diverse in spite of the undeniable fact that it frequently (i think) it comes right down to tolerance ranges. length has some to do with how lots yet no longer continually. i be conscious of smaller human beings than me which could incredibly "drink me under the table" The extra often one beverages alcohol, with time they're going to start to consume extra alcohol to attain the comparable "buzz". Quiet in basic terms positioned, the extra often a guy or woman beverages there tolerance point will grow to be better which in turn ability they might desire to consume extra alcohol. To specifically answer the question I even have witness and took part in eating 20 beverages in 2 hours. to each their very own... i wish this gave slightly perception... Cheers!

Digestive problems? probably IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) However, LIVER FAILURE is not to be shrugged off which one causative factor is definitely alcohol.
Regardless, this is bad habitual behavior and the drinking needs to be tapered down and off if possible.
