3/4 = 1 - [(3x-2)/(x+1)]
3/4 = (x+1)/(x+1) - [(3x-2)/(x+1)]
3(x+1)/4 = x+1 -(3x-2)
3x/4 + 3/4 = -2x + 3
11x/4 = 9/4
11x = 9
x = 9/11

Note to first answerer: You copied the problem wrong it is 3x-2 not 3x+2. I stared at your answer for nearly ten minutes trying to find a flaw in your perfect algebra before realizing that you must have copied the problem wrong!

3/4 = 1- (3x+2/x+1) multiply by 4 to get
3 = 4 - (12x+8) /(x+1) multiply by x+1 to get
3x +3 = 4x + 4 - 12x - 8
3x -4x +12x = 4-3-8
11x = -7
x= -7/11

3/4=1-(3x-2/x+1)
3(x+1)=4x+4-12x+8
3x+3=12-8x
3x+8x=12-3
11x=9
x=9/11
