Yes, the moon landing was a huge SHAM! It was done in a studio in Hollywood. Also, Elvis Presley IS ALIVE, I saw him at Der Weiner Schnitzel two weeks ago ordering 6 chili dogs with extra onions. Also, Micheal Jackson did NOT molest those children, and OJ Simpson did NOT slaughter Nicole Brown, and Bill Clinton "DID NOT HAVE SEX WITH THAT WOMAN"!!!
Lindsay Lohan has never had a drink in her life, Pamela Anderson's Boobs are NOT fake, and Billy Joel is a great driver!
Gary Coleman did NOT beeeeeeotch-slap that lady who asked for an autograph, and everyone who does not believe in life on other planets is CRAZY...... where do you think Micheal Jackson, Andy Dick, Zsa Zsa Gabor, and Victoria Beckham are from???
Get a CLUE!!!!
Sheeeezzzz..........

Doubtless I'll get demerit points for this judging by by the marks attached to some answers. But, in short, The Lunar landings were not faked.
Every single claim made by hoax proponents can be explained. More often than not the basis of the 'faked' claims are due to a misunderstanding, or simple ignorance, of the facts and science. Given some of the complexities of what really happened many people are simply taken in by those who claim the landings were faked. Worse however are those that wilfully ignore or refuse to listen to reason and science which offers simple, rational and satisfactory answers to all of the 'It was a hoax' claims.
The whole issue is extremely well covered by many websites but is interesting to note that some of those who claim the landings were faked have done quite well financially from their claims. Perhaps it is in their interest to stoke the fires of unbelief? A look at the various sites claiming faked landings are revealing: Every single piece of evidence they put forward can be argued against and dismantled. In each case their claims are based on wilful twisting of the truth, pure fabrication, incorrect or incomplete analysis of the evidence, or a simple lack of knowledge of science, physics and the facts. Hoaxes and conspiracy theories are big business.
The landings were not faked. Twelve men really did set foot on the Moon between 1969 and 1972. It was a remarkable technical achievement for that time and it was a extraordinary risky endevour by man. While the motives for going there were undoubtledy motivated in part by political concerns there is no doubt that the landings actually took place. There is simply no evidence that stands up to scrutiny which back up the claim that the landings were faked.

No I don't. For one thing there were six moon landings, not just one, along with one moon flyby, two moon orbiting flights and two earth orbital flights using the same type spacecraft, not to mention the various unmanned tests that predated the landings.
For another, Apollo involved 400,000 people at its peak, and not one of them has ever come forward and said anything about it being faked. If you assume no-one but the very top brass knew it was to be faked then all the engineering coanies and subcontractors would have built working hardware, so why fake it if you have everything you need to actually do it? If you work out the bare minimum of people who would know it was fake then you have too many people to keep it quiet for this long.
And then there's the fact that most of the 'proof' is so incredibly stupid and ignorant. A waving flag on the Moon? It doesn't wave unless someone moves it, and it is held out by a rod across the top precisely because it WON'T wave on the Moon. No stars? Try exposing stars and brightly lit objects on the same picture and see how well you do. Non-parallel shadows? Just use your eyes and notice that these happen everywhere.
And to make matters worse and even more infuriating for those of us who have bothered to educate ourselves in the relevant facts, many of those hawking the conspiracy theory are outright liars and frauds. I know this from a personal experience with one of them, regarding his advertising claims and the words on his website.

For all the idiots out there that think it was faked, visit the site below which explains away all the "proof" it was a hoax. To date, there has not been any evidence presented which cannot be explained scientifically.
Some of the more common bits of "proof":
Why is the flag waving? Well, it isn't. It's just being bumped and moving around. The rod through the top holding it out is not as long as the fabric. So, it appears to have ripples in it, just like your shower curtain bunches up when you open it. Why does the flag move as if blown around? Go out to a car with the antena up. Bump the antenna. Watch as it oscillates back and forth. Now, imagine putting a flag on it and the car being in a garage where there isn't any wind. While the antenna is moving, the flag would appear to be waving in the wind.
Why aren't there any stars in the pictures? Well, think of photographic and video tech back then. Basically it sucked compared to today's digital tech. There is so much glaring sunlight on the Moon's surface that any long exposure photo would be whited out. So, in the briefest setting possible, faint star light just doesn't show up. Go outside here on earth at night and with a film camera take a shot of the sky on the quickest shutter setting. Even with high speed film you're not going to get too many stars to show up.
Who took the pictures of the landers leaving the surface of the Moon? Time delay settings were available on remote video cameras as well as still cameras.
The list goes on and on; every time someone says they have proof it was a hoax, their proof can easily be shot full of holes by any person who paid attention in high school physics class.

No, they are not fake. There was an excellent documentary on BBC TV about a year ago, which proved to my satisfaction that the first moon landing was genuine, and I am very sceptical about pretty well everything.
All of the issues were covered; shadow anomalies, the stars and stripes apparently moving in the wind, the point source of light on helmet visors being the wrong size, and so on.
The proof was not supplied by NASA or even Americans, but by an dependant scientific study from all over the world.
Anyone who now believe that the moon landings did not take place is barking, or even a lunatic!

It was not a fake. We know they really went because they put something up there that they can bounce a laser off of and measure the distance of the moon from earth. That is how they know that the moon is moving away from the earth at the rate of 1.6 inches per year.

NO. Every time something special is achieved, somebody tries to convince us that it was a fake..
Far too many independent observers (including the Russians) picked up signals from the space craft as it journeyed to, during its stay on, and during its return from the moon.
It is quite easy to pin-point the source of high frequency radio signals and to follow the passage of a spacecraft on such a comparatively local journey that it would have been impossible to fake it.

Noone will ever really know except the people who were supposed to have been there.
I don't believe it was fake however. How would you keep the thousands of people who were involved quiet? Besides, it just seems like another favourite conspiracy theory.

It was fake because it occured during the Cold War. Nations were just competing to look strong and sent fake satellite photos to each to prove one was more superior than the other. Therefore, it is fake. Oh, by the way, the earth is also flat.
I am a prominent member of the Flat Earth Club (FEC) at my university.
