Due to schedule conflicts I can only go to Vegas in the beginning of January and those first four days of the New Year are the cheapest prices till summer comes around again. If anyone knows what it is like during those few days please respond with whether or not it's worth it to go. I know that all the New Years parties pretty much leave the place trashed but how crazy is it really?

Well, I know that New Years Eve night you can get seperated from people pretty easy. It is literally shoulder to shoulder with no room to move.

However, most people fly out on the first of January, or the second. The good news is if you go in on Janurary first it should be rather calm, though it may be a bit of a mess until they can get it cleaned up, but it shouldn't take long.

As far as I'm concerned, that is one of the better times to go, because all the events will be over, and Vegas will go back to normal. Good luck, and I hope you have fun on your vacation.

Las Vegas is really one of the cleanest and safest tourist destinations. Las Vegas Boulevard is cleaned regularly and the casinos are always well maintained. You should have a great time there. It gets surprisingly chilly in the winter and windy so pack appropriately.

I would advise buying your plane tickets early so you get the best rates but wait for a great deal to book your hotel. Sign up for email promotions from your top five hotels and keep checking their websites. I stayed at the Venetian right before Christmas last year for $99/night.

It's pretty crazy. But, the street sweepers come to the fore at 2 AM and everything is cleaned up on the Strip by sunup. Although we have a lot of hotel rooms, we also have the largest linen plant west of Chicago and we manage to change all the sheets for the incoming folks. It doesn't take us long to rebound after "amateur" night.
