So many of them think they are so superior to average men and women!
So many of them are making obscene multi million dollar annual salaries.
WE pay them their salaries everytime we purchase their products!
Don't they owe the communities and the people of those communities some respect with regard to safe working conditions, employer offered health insurance, fair wages....etc.
Don't Capitalists realize that without the laborers and consumers they are just people with fancy gadgets and services that serve only them?
There's a disconnect.
Why?

brenda r: I have been raised to be totally self-sufficient and able to live off the land if need be!
The best thing my family ever did for me!
I don't 'need' anything that any corporation offers!
It's kind of sad really how lost many Americans would be if they had to live by their wits and provide for themselves independent of modern conveniences!

Daniel: Just because I have those things you mentioned doesn't mean I 'need' those things!
I am a late bloomer in this Internet/computer lifestyle. I bought my first computer about 6 years ago.
My then 73 yr old Grandmother had one before I did.
I actually bought it thinking it would help my kids with school work.
I am an avid reader. Now I read alot of stuff much easier on the Internet!
Granted living life with modern conveniences is great but I don't 'need' them.
Can you say that?
I really think I should have been born in the Pioneer days.
Life was much less complicated then.LOL!

articchick: Of course I it bothers me that people are so uninvolved and unaware.
That's why I am telling things the way I see them!
I might even be wrong...sometimes! LOL!
I don't think I know everything!
I do think I know quite a bit though!
And I am really very concerned about the future of our country.
I really don't want the U.S. to be Fascist or Communist.
I think we need to hold onto our Democratic Republic and be everything the constitution says we are!
Capitalism unchecked and running our government is threatening that! IMO!

Well...for the most part, Miss Kelly, they *are* superior to you. Not under the law...but certainly in success in life. Some laws exist in part to protect the minorities, but most laws exist to protect us all. The "fat cats" take advantage of their liberty more than you do. They are actually not so fat...most successful business people are more fit, more energetic, and smarter than people like...well...you.
Why are you so unsuccessful in commerce? So unsuccessful that you cannot
Have you ever met a poor person who gave someone else a job?
There's a disconnect there...for you...why not look in the mirror and figure that out?

Kelly, walk away from the propoganda sites. Numerous corporation donate millions to help charities, McDonalds has the Ronald McDonald Fund, Bill Gates has donated millions to charities and college funds, Home Depot builds playground in impverished neighborhoods, I could go on and on.
As for safe working conditions, every job has it's risks and the people in charge make every effort to keep a workplace as safe as possible, if they don't lawsuits and worker's compensation bills. And the majority of coporations offer health insurance and competetive wages. Competetive does not mean more than you're worth, it means if you flip burgers we'll pay you what a burger flipper is worth.
I have no clue where you're getting this stuff from, but seriously, you seem so disconnected from the real world it's scarey.
edit: lol, if you don't need anything a corporation offers, are you running off a computer you made from scratch and driving an automobile or bike you've built from scratch also? Give me a break.

Well I wil empathize with you on this one.
I have worked for small businesses and for corporations large and small.
With the corporations you have the freedom of doing a job getting decent pay and usually benefits, but at a total disconnect from the people in charge.
I get so tired of people in an executive office making stupid decisions when they really have no clue what their employees really do then they take a phat salary, and if their stupid decisions run the company down then what happens... they lay off some of the workers instead of firing the executives making those stupid decisions.
Then when they really screw up they get the nice golden parachute let down instead of a kick to the curb.
Its odd because when I see someone rise from one of the workers into management its rare to see them as the same person anymore. Its like someone gave them a lobotomy and now they are a corporate yes man ( or woman ) and its franky quite disgusting most of the time.
And how that happens I really havent figured it out.

Wealthy corporate fat cats do not care about the worker or the average citizen. They are in big business to make a lot of money for themselves and that is the bottom line. Read about Marxism and Max Weber and others that explain socialism and ideology and their work shows exactly what is going on in today's world and in corporate America today!
I am getting ill at they way capitalism works and it is not for the good of the people but for the good of the corporations.

Actually, that is one of the first things they learn in business school (or either on the job). Every one of them realizes this. What a lot of commoners don't understand is that most of them make their fortunes by investing in their education and taking risks with their money. In the real world you will understand that THERE ARE different kinds of people, that's just a fact of life and if you deny it, well, you're in denial.
Also, they don't get rich by you buying one of their products, they get rich by selling it to MILLIONS of consumers.
Also, you don't pay their salaries by purchasing the product, you pay mostly for cost.
No one is entitled to anything. You want it, you go get it.

Kelly B,
Did it ever occur to you: Where would the consumer be without the fat cats?
I mean that is what I am talking about sweetheart. You think in one direction. You are an Idealist...with no understanding of reality. I am sure you not a bad person...and you sound intelligent...but damn you know nothing of reality.
I think there are plenty of Fat Cats who give to charity.
Instead of condemning everyone in society...look at it with some sense of objectivety.
The Fat Cats are the ones who took risk, who pioneered, who innovated. You call that capitalism,.... I call it vision.
I am really being nice to you...because you sound intelligent. So take it for what it is. Trust me... I would love to humiliate you over and over and over again.

If people really hated them that much, then they would boycott them out of business. The truth is that people always have the power over corporations, but the worst people offer is lip-service. Bill Gates makes 500 times what most people at Microsoft do, but I bet you're still running Windows. No one is willing to back it up with action, so I guess people don't care that much.

Here's a tip: Rosie O is a bigger looser then you are (pun intended) The more you see them the more you repeat the crap they make up because you have a brain the size of a pea

I think the American public has become just too lazy and stupid to care. Come on, Kelly - I know it has to bother you that more of our countrymen vote for American Idol than in political elections. If they don't care enough about their own futures to bother to be educated, informed voters, they sure as hell don't care enough to turn off the latest Paris or Britney news and deal with the corporations.
Sometimes I wonder if we're worthy of our freedom.

When the consumer actually becomes something without them.
It's hard for a monopoly to realize that, when they have the vital things that consumers need to survive.
