I do know he is very funny. He tries to pass off as a conservative, but in a mocking way. Besides, he's from NY!!
I get the feeling he's somewhat of a liberal. Yep, definitely...

Wow! After reading these posts I see some conservatives don't get or understand his satire or sophisticated humor!

OK here is a little help for you cons.

Satire is a literary genre, chiefly literary and dramatic, in which someone vices, follies, abuses, or shortcomings are held up to censure by means of ridicule, derision, burlesque, irony, or other methods, sometimes with an intent to bring about improvement.

Steven Colbert is a satirist who mostly ridicules Republicans, conservatives, and the current administration.

He is not a conservative.

He's a moderate, personally.. from his interviews, mixed fiscal conservative and libertarian, with some liberal views on personal freedom and constitutional protections.

He plays a fundamentalist conservative on his show.

He's liberal, and I love him for it.

Here... watch this vid. It's Stephen Colbert on 60 Minutes, and it might help you understand his show a little more.

He's supposedly conservative, but a New York conservative isn't really conservative by the rest of the country's standards.

He is a Democratic Catholic Sunday School Teacher.
