Well, as was said at the time about the American revolution ...
"One third for for it,
One third were against it,
One third couldn't give a damn."

Does that give a clue to the Iraq situation?

It would be very hard to rate one as the greatest so perhaps the top five would be the American Revolution (1775), The European Revolutions (1848), The Russian Revolution (1917), The French Revolution (1789), and The Cultural Revolution China (1966). I would not include Iraq on any scale.

There isn`t a comparison , the American Revolution was a British colony fighting for independence from Britain .This basically means we were fighting among ourselves .
Iraqis on the other hand, are the indigenous people of a Sovereign Country , invaded and now occupied by foreign forces .So therefore a more valid comparison would have to be between the British invaders and the native Americans

It was probably one of the more just and noble insurgencies. We even paid Great Britain back for the land we confiscated and allowed them to keep forts here well after the end of the war.

No, just one of many...

But one of the more successful in terms of the rebels later getting along with their former rulers....
