Do you need special acrylic paints when using a Badger Double Action Airbrush?

Hello. Along with my interest in roller coasters I love HO Scale model trains. And when Kitbashing, I need to paint/weather my engines, cars & buildings. Now, I do not have an airbrush yet, but I am getting a Badger 150 Double Action airbrush kit, and I have learned that for model RR'ing acrylic paints work very well. But, I do not know if they will harm my airbrush. So I am asking you. Thank you in advance! :-{)

Acrylic paints will NOT harm your airbrush. I use Tamiya Acrylics, as well as Testors Model Master Enamels and Flo-Quil Enamels.

Just test alittle with thinning the paint, and ALWAYS thoroughly clean your airbrush after work (see manufacturers directions).

I use 3 Badger 150's and a air-gun... Personally, I prefer using enamels... but acrylics work just fine.

you should use much less costly craft acrylics in an airbrush with the help of using rubbing alcohol because of the fact the thinner. It won't bead like water on the floor once you air brush it. upload white glue (polyvinyl acetate) to the acrylic to make it stick, additionally diluted with alcohol. the ordinary denominator with windshield washer fluid and all the different brokers is ALCOHOL, much less costly rubbing alcohol. Acrylics, latex, and white glue are artifical, no longer plant or animal rubber products and can be thinned for airbrush use. The paint would seem too thick while sprayed yet remember you're spraying countless alcohol blended with the paint and glue and it will evaporate away and could no longer bead like water. The craft acrylics are positive pigmented. i take advantage of this on form trains. i'm getting the main suitable paint jobs I ever have been given, better than lacquers. it works and you prefer test no better. Dilute it adequate to spray properly during the airbrush. Thickness of milk??? what's that? they do no longer clog the airbrush. i take advantage of unmarried action airbrush because of the fact it particularly is greater handy to bathe.
