I've definitely had that thought cross my mind, several times. Other people I've talked to have had the same thoughts. Whenever I come across someone who sometimes feels this way, I feel like they're just in on the plot and thy're trying to make me feel better about the big trick. I'm onto you people.

Somebody asked me once, what if everyone else in the world was a psychic, and just didn't say anything to the few poor retards who weren't. I had no response to that. But every once in a while, I'll be walking through a crowd lost in my own thoughts- my financial information, a night of really great sex, that one really embarassing time I... well, you get the idea. Personal stuff, and then this nagging paranoia floats back that a psychic in the crowd may be eavesdropping, because some jackass made an offhanded suggestion at a party in college. It's a ridiculous notion, and an absolutely irrational concern, but I've just never been able to shake it. (Sorry if I just passed on the joy by talking about it). But fortunately, I finally came up with a plan. If I ever wonder whether there's a psychic around, I either think of the funniest thing I can (to see who smiles), or I think about having to pee really bad (to see who runs for the restroom).
If it turns out that the whole world is a conspiracy against you, I think you should at least do what you can to make it entertaining for yourself.

Here's something to think about:
Desiderata
Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs;
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
it is as perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.

Think of it this way, you are uniquely you,there is only ONE
RU4REAL, your mind is yours to think and feel whatever you
like,and by the way you make my mind snigger nearly everyday
i bet half the things you really feel you would not be allowed to write, my friend you know the truth, we all think the world is full
of aliens and reptilian shape-shifters lets not worry about them
and continue to be real, you are not alone that's all that matters
we believe in you and we dint even know you.
i hope the book exceeds your expectations .

The whole world actually is built to fool us. The world is "swaying like a drunkard under the weight of its own sin." In other words, this world is in decay, and the father of this world is Satan, whose explicit purpose it is to lead us astray. So, you are discerning something very true, and very important. Keep asking God what the Truth is. His Kingdom is NOT of this world.

um, no. But, I have often wondered if we are like the figurines in Jason and the Argonauts. Do the Divine Spirits just push us around because we are mere mortals. Good to see you again, by the way. (leelee)

Plato's parable of the cave. It also sounds like "The Matrix." Life often feels the way you describe, but if it is all a hoax, I would expect them to slip up and for you to catch them at it.

I have not pondered this, although you do give me food for thought. My big "why" question lately has been along the lines of responsbile parenting. I don't understand what is happening with people or families anymore.

It is always only the most georgous men who make me feel that way, when from the corner of my eye I catch them signaling one another.
