Having no expectations at all, because you have to be motivated in order to wake up in the morning and continue your life........without expectations, our life is empty and useless. High expectations motivate us to fight in order to achieve our goals...we don't have to be afraid of failure, even if it hurts, because it makes us stronger, wiser.....life it's not perfect, but we have to learn how to survive in this jungle. If we know ourselves, we shouldn't have higher expectations than those which reflect our possibilities. On the contrary, we would suffer a lot......and then, the sense of failure hurts more than everything that happened before and it will always remain in our mind, transforming us in persons afraid of life and challenge.

Having no expectations at all is much worse. If you have no expectations, you'll never have the motivation to reach for your goals.

having the expectations too high... i had my hopes up and it made me happy, and then that something doesnt happen.

Having them too high. Why would you go for something that's impossible to have? It'll never work.
