ok i bought guild wars factions on online auction. its not new. the activation key has been used by previous owner on other account. now i want to make a new account with the same activation key. is that possible? will they let me or will it say key duplicated or something like that?

You can use the game but only if they have given you their email address and password for the account, you will also the date of birth and possibly some other info to change the password. I hope you bought this with PayPal because it sounds like you just got ripped off.

sorry, but it sounds like you got scammed. Accounts aren't transferable in Guild Wars. Once a key is used, it's used.
You can play on his account since you know the password, but the original owner has the ability to yank back the account at any time and a lot of them do so to resell.

They will say the key has already been used. Once a key is linked to an account, it's not valid anymore. I'm sorry, but you've been ripped off.

Guild Wars is being developed by ArenaNet, a subsidiary of NCsoft. Rather than have a continuous beta ArenaNet hold Beta weekends, where pre-ordered players and invited friends are allowed to test the game. This weekend was one such event and I was lucky enough to be invited along.
