It's probably fine to do some light activity if you are not bleeding. Check with your doctor to make sure it's okay. He/she will probably want you to wait until after your six week checkup. If you had a C-section, I wouldn't suggest getting in the pool for a few more weeks. HTH

I waited six weeks. Also, you'll probably bleed on and off for about 4 to 6 weeks and you can't use tampons, so other people might not want you in the pool!!! If you've had stitches, you don't want to risk infection. I'd wait. Sorry! I know that's not the answer you want to hear. I gave birth to twins last July and missed swimming the rest of the summer... It was a bummer, but I didn't want to take the chance.

My doc told me to wait for 4-5 weeks until i didnt hve any bleeding and my stiches were healed completely. Everyone is different, so better get a complete checkup from your doc before stepping into the pond, especially of it is used by other people. You are prone to infections at this stage more easily..so watch out!

You must wait at least 6 weeks. No sex, no baths, no spas, no douche, no tampons, no swimming for 6 weeks or until you see your doctor and he does a pelvic exam. You can't determine the healing of your cervix based on how things look on the outside. You must have the doctor check your first. You will increase your risk of developing an infection if you go swimming. Infections can lead to scarring and other problems which may affect your future ability to have children. Just wait a few more weeks.

giving birth is not a disease nor an illness. As quick as possible, in China they jump back into the rice fields immediately after birth.

I would wait until you are done bleeding simply because you cannot wear tampons or cups and you don't want to attract sharks;-) (no seriously, no blood in the pool please)

You could become septic - massive infection internally. Do not go swimming!
