Have you been watching a little too much TV lately? If you did that don't you think something like from A Sound of Thunder by Ray Bradbury would be more what you are describing where a big game hunter wusses out and runs off the path to get back to the time machine only to find out he has stepped on a butterfly and changed all of time as we know it? No...I wouldn't kill the butterflies. I think the monarchs that come to San Antonio every year in swarms are charming even if a bunch do end up on my car's windshield and grill...I need a bumper sticker...I break for Butterflies...and three dot answers.

No way! i would never kill butterflys because they cause things to happen, if perhaps that IS why things happen. Things happen for a reason, good and bad, and if killing butterflys will allow you to not experience one bad thing, what if it makes you miss out on something wonderful happening later on in life. now how much would that suck, just cus you wanted to kill all the butterflys. butterflys are awesome =]

It wouldn't matter as you said nothing about killing cattepillars. The butterflys would all come back.

No, it is important to preserve all the species on earth, because when you take one link out of the food chain, the whole thing comes crashing down.
