Don't mess with the official MS Office unless you really think you need the advanced features it has. Use OpenOffice instead. It will open most Word, Excel, and Powerpoint documents. Good night!

Go to OpenOffice.org and download their free office suite. They have a presentation tool called Impress that will read and create Powerpoint presentations.
