**This is primarily an INSURANCE question, since Republicans have such a problem with "Socialism",
not necessarily an abortion question.
Would a Republican's suggestion be to become a beggar on "charity" (where they would know to find this is anyone's guess),
or be forced to give up their child because they are poor (Does that sound like something Jesus would suggest)?

Christ people, READ the question!
Should a woman abort because she doesn't have insurance? What if a woman would OTHERWISE WANT her child?
What do you suggest? Force her to hand the baby over because she isn't even necessarily poor, but just can't afford the ridiculous expense of insurance?
How would you suggest women get by if not through some social safety net?

whcwarrior, that's a cop out impratical stance that completely disregards the issue at hand-- which is that people have sex and reproduce, regardless of environmental factors.
The politics come in after the fact, hence, the argument in the debate.

If a women wants to keep her child, but can't afford health insurance, she should get a job and work for health insurance. She could also ask one of her family members or close friends to take care of the child until she can afford health insurance. There's always a substitution for abortion.

Its very sad. Pregnancies, even completely uncomplicated ones are very expensive. I know that it was at least $10,000 that my insurance paid out when I had my son 10 years ago and it was a simple labor. If they are that bad off financially they could probably qualify for a low income insurance program if they are pregnant. Without the pregnacy, she probably would not qualify because she is just an adult. Children are what qualifies you for the program. A pregnant woman is counted as 2 for the low income programs, so if her wages are low, she would probably qualify. There also are a lot of programs run by churches and such to help pregnant women that need the help.
The thing is I know women who have gotten pregnant on every type of birth control out there, including having the tubes tied. A lot of women get pregnant while using condoms etc, so it's not as easy a problem as many here seem to think.
No, there are really lots of options for her and help to be found if she looks for it and gets the right people to help her, like goes to an agency that helps with those things. Actually I don't know anyone who has aborted for that sort of reason.

I am pretty sure that every single state in this country offers health care to people with low incomes and then subsequently offers children health insurance if their parents cant afford it. In fact, in CA the state had to push their free healthcare for children program because the parents of children that qualified werent enrolling their kids in the program. I guess they were too busy to enroll their kids in free healthcare. The numbers you see of uninsured are seriously misconstrued and many of those are illegals.
I think women should get their lives in order and make plans for the future before they think about getting pregnant. In this day and age there is very little reason for unwanted unplanned pregnancies and if you do want a child then you cant be so selfish as to bring a child on purpose into this world that you know you havent prepared yourself to take care of. Many many couples find a way to afford their children and provide for them, even if it means doing jobs they dont want to. When you have kids their lives become more important then your own. Noone should ever ever have an abortion because they cant afford the child. What a sick reason to murder your own child.

This is the most pathetic cry for sentiment that I have ever read.
Any pregnant woman who lacks insurance is provided for in this country - above all else.
Should she decide to abort because her pregnancy isn't important enough to her to fill out a simple welfare application and spend perhaps ONE afternoon sitting in a welfare office, she certainly does not deserve to be a mom.
Hence the answer to your question is, if a woman would make that decision because she doesn't have cushy medical coverage, that is her choice and if a woman would use the excuse of being poor not to have a baby, there again, she doesn't deserve one.
There are always resolutions to THOSE problems here in the US. Adoption and/or education are good ones and if she chooses to abort, it is only due to her obvious lack of will, backbone and dedication.

Its not my place to suggest. But its also not their place or anyone elses to decide that the child does not deserve a chance at life. Insurance aside. The chance of being born into poverty is not a reason to deny a child a CHANCE, the same chance that those of us among the living got. If children who will be born into poverty should be aborted "for their own good" lets get rid of Colin Powell and countless other great people like him.
LOL thats cute, you think jesus thinks health insurance is more important than life. Cute, very cute.
Thats real funny that you atheists keep trying to use Jesus as an example and pretend to know who he is.
The answer to both questions is YES. Jesus would want a child to LIVE even if it means it will live in poverty or be adopted. I understand that you atheists think poverty and adoption and general dissatisfaction with certain aspects of life are reasons to NOT LIVE. But Jesus, was the son of God. I understand you atheists dont think LIFE is more important than THINGS because to you life is a chemical accident. But for crying outloud, stopping using Jesus questions in your arguments. You cant just take the name Jesus and slap it on an atheistic materialistic thought process. Jesus is Jesus. LIFE is important because its a gift from god, even IF it starts out in poverty or adoption or god forbid, a lack of insurance.

Maybe the exuse is really a cop out to justify an unwanted pregnancy. Simply put, if a woman wants to keep her child, she'll do it. Hospital bills can be paid off in time.

I seriously doubt that lack of insurance has ever been the reason for an abortion.
Whats more, it isn't even a plausible reason because any hospital with an emergency facility is mandated by federal law to treat anyone who comes in for care - including illegal immigrants.
I am not pro-abortion, and I am for legitimate arguments against it, and this isn't a legitimate argument.

You can do whatever you want in the first two trimesters as far as I am concerned. ....As long as you quit the pathetic whining and soap-box bashing. If you want to kill it after the point where it could be viable outside the womb, unless there is a valid medical reason, you are a sick, depraved sociopath who should be sterilized.

Anybody can make enough money to afford insurance they just have to have the determination from birth. Second i would much rather have a child be put up for adoption than killing he or she.

It's not right. If you can't afford health insurance goto Canada, France, Cuba, Mexico, or other countries.
I know the DEA (that gets paid tons of money) won't like it because then you won't pay the HMOs lots of money just to get healthcare.
Take a look at Sicko (By Michael Moore)
Also Abortions just because they can't afford health care is wrong. I know America is the worst place to get insurance because they don't care about the people (including Blue Cross Blue Shield).
The Insurance companies won't really help you if you have undisclosed health issues including a yeast infection.
I Repeat: Don't get a abortion if you can't afford dumbass healthcare costs. Goto Canada or France, cause they have free child care and your government does your Laundry for free.
YEAH FOR FRANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I recommend goto France and then no more worrying about insurance. Your a taxpayer, you deserve free healthcare.
