I found out the phone number and street address of the casting director that casts one of the shows that I like on tv and I would like to try to get some sort of small guest part, but I don't know if I need to bring headshots or something because I've never gone to any kind of audition before. Please help me

Where I'm from you don't just go see a CD. It's common practice to mail them a head shot, resume and demo, but not to just drop in. They're very busy people and there are a lot of people who want to see them. They couldn't possibly have time to see everyone who wanted to meet them.

Follow protocol and mail them something. Some of the CDs I spoken with have even said a silly gift has made someone stand out too, like a blank invite to the oscar party they're invited to just for casting you in a movie. Or sun glasses to shield their eyes from your brilliance.

You may also want to think about getting an agent. That's usually one of the first steps.

Never go to the office of a casting director, unless your agent submits.

If you go without being sent by an agent, the casting director will certainly never call you for an audition.
Always use common sense.

If you show up at the office you may as well kiss your acting career good-bye, Casting Directors and agents have long memories. Mess up forget it!

Mail your headshot/resume to the Casting Director. If he thinks you may be right for a role, you will get a phone call. Never, never go to the office unless asked to do so, unless you want to blow your chances!

The last thing you want to do is screw-up with a CD or Agent.

I smell something quite fishy. I would have him checked out before you do anything. If there is a phone number, call it. If they ask for money, then leave and call the BBB or the police.
