Adding a router to your cable internet is typically very simple. Before adding the router, you probably have a cable modem connected directly to your PC via a network cable. Disconnect this network wire and connect it to the the WAN/Internet port on your router. Now the router has Internet access and can provide it to the LAN ports (or wireless interface) on the router.

Out of the box, the above configuration will work for most routers. It's wise to configure some security settings (as it appears you have) to provide a form of encryption on your wireless connection. You can make changes to these settings by using your routers admin control panel (see the online help specific to your router for detailed instructions)

Good luck and enjoy the new router :]

if you donot have an internet connection after you directly connect your modem to the router, then your router needs to be configured then.
and you need to contact your ISP, if they support your router, or the manufacturer of your router for the correct configuration/settings for you to have an internet connection using a router.

Is this a used router off eBay? Just pin reset on the back and you can set it up as though it was new uninitialized from store.

disconnect the power from the router and modem for 1 minute. then hook up the power to the modem, then the router. that should work.
