For the past two times i've driven the car, the battery light turns on (when you start it) and it would take FIVE minutes until it turns off. Once it is turned off, I have full power (radio, lights, everything).

What's wrong with my car? Is it the battery? Alternator? What?

I plan on selling it within a week. How badly is this going to affect the amount the car will depreciate and lose value by? HELP!!

Since you can start your car, but do not have full power on the battery, it could be that your bettery is not holding charge. Take it to a battery shop, or sears auto, they will check it for free. And you have full power after 5 mins, that means that your alternator should be good. The wire connecting to the alternator and battery should be check too, it they are expose and touching the car body, you may loose power too.
You may lost hundreds of dollars without repairing this problem, as the buyer will notice this problem when he start the engine and will not know how much he have to pay to get it repair.

If I saw that light on, I would not buy the car.

There is a charging system failure of some kind. That is why the light is on. It could be simple or difficult to find. Might be a bad connection at the alternator. You should have it properly inspected by qualified people to find out what is needed.

See if it goes out after a 20 mile drive. If not, disconnect the battery for 10 minutes and connect it back. Hopefully the light doesn't come back on. If it does, have the trouble codes checked.

Sounds like a bad battery.
Starting discharges it below the normal limit.
In the "5 Minutes" it recharges and the light goes out.

If you're honest, you'll tell the buyer about tt and that you think the battery will need replacement soon.
(Not a whole lot of $).

there is a short probably in the system somewhere, you can check this by getting a test light and testing each fuse. dont be that guy and sell a bum car unless they know about the problem.
