i'm going down to the keys for ten days tomorrow. to babysit and other stuff. we're supposed to be catching lobsters. but i just read in a magazine a little bit ago that lobster season is over.lol. but thats not the point. i want to know a good way to write some poems when i'm there. i'm stumped right now. i've been stumped for the past few days. maybe if i get bit by a shark i could write about that.lol. any ideas???? for some reason i have a feeling i won't get to many ideas while i'm there. i feel like a fool.

Write about what you see. Write about the weather, the landscape, the tourists, the lobsters... write about whatever strikes your fancy. You can find inspiration anywhere you go-- you just have to look in the right places. :) Best of luck!

If you read my answer to your previous question you will begin to understand, that one does not just sit down and write a poem that is meaningful. You are being too up tight about
wanting to create a terrific poem. Words do not just come out of the air, nor does everyone get inspired on a daily basis. Go to the Keys, go fishing; go for a walk, enjoy the beautiful weather do anything but concentrate on writing anything. You are trying too hard.

I'm sorry that I don't have any advice but over all you might be able to write when you get back I wouldn't fret to much about being able to write because sometimes the ablity just to enjoy what you got at the time can be the most invaluable and then later on the best poetry that a person can write can then flow.

Don't force it...when you're in the right mood, you'll see something that will grab your attention...and just write about it, how it makes you feel, how it looks to you, what it reminds you of...meanwhile, enjoy your time in the Keys and give your brain a rest until it's ready...when it's ready, what you write won't be "crappy" :)

have faith...and keep writing when the urge hits you

Find a quiet place,
Kick back and relax.
Open your eyes and mind to all that surrounds you.

Write what you see, hear, smell and feel.

Who knows, you just may write a masterpiece if you just let go.

Peace,
Sam
