You are unhappy in any given moment, any given *Now*, because you want the reality of your present state to be different then it is, thus you are discontent. The trick is recognizing that the truth, the reality, does not change *in that moment* to be as you want it. It never will, it is impossible. Recognize that how you feel about something does not change it, so detach and be contented instead.
This does not mean you don't try to invoke positive change when you can, but that entails being mindful so that you can act *in the moment* when it is appropriate to do so, there is an option to change something.
When there is nothing to do, *do* nothing.
I would also suggest taking up practice of meditation and altruistic behavior, I'll explain why in a moment. Meditation, specifically Breath Meditation/Mindfulness of Breathing, will help you learn ho w to let go of the craving for this moment to be other then it is. Once you get calm and peaceful enough in meditation, you can enter deep states called "Jhanas", or states of Bliss. That is why you must practice altrusim. When you help someone, when you are concerned for others and selfLESS, you experience positive emotions, the warm happy feeling inside, and this is because we are reflective creatures (see mirror neurons in wikipedia). The more willing you are to help others, the more you experience joy and happiness. Once you are a selfless person for a while, your mind will be conditioned for blissful states (all that altruism DOES hit the pleasure centers of the brain, I'll link a source below), and you concentrate on your breath and the feelings of compassion, selflessness, etc. and you learn to let go and be content all the time. Takes practice, ^_^. I'll link a meditation instructional by Ajahn Brahm below too (he's a PhD in theoretical physics from Cambridge U who became a monk). Hope that helps!

No one can't be happy all the time, at least in our current nature. Sadness, pain, and loneliness is essential to distinguish those moments of happiness. Say, If you are constantly happy 100% of the time, that state of happiness would become a usual thing for you and you will get bored and then you are not really happy. There should be an opposition in all things so that we may enjoy the wonders of life and take appreciation for it.
But lasting joy may be felt from giving and receiving love, a clear conscience, and from reaping the rewards of your efforts. Have a nice day.

I doubt you'll ever figure that one out. Feeling unhappy sometimes is just a fact of life every body has that feeling some times. I'll be watching to see if any one claims to be happy all the time, if there is someone then I want their miracle.

if we were happy ALL THE TIME and were always happy from the time we were born then we wouldn't know what happiness truly is because we wouldn't have experienced sadness, humans cannot express the same emotion all the time for the rest of their life, its impossible. the closest you can get would be someone who experiences extreme depression which can last up to years.

As you are aware by now it impossible. But one way might be to really look at nature. Sometimes the clouds are full and thick, or small and thin, but they are peaceful to look at. And say a background of trees and acres of grass, with the clouds spreading "running shades" across it, makes for a pretty rather happy moment to know that such a masterpiece is free to look at. Everyday. And you won't see the same artwork twice!

One needs to be mighty powerful without any weakness of body or mind or soul, to be able to achieve absolute happiness for all time........ unhappiness seem to arise from objects and events, but in reality are caused by our own weaknesses not only of the body but also of the mind and spirit.
The best way to enhance our power is to remove our weaknesses one by one.... at the end of it all we would still find our ego standing as a stumbling block and unless we can transcend the ego, we would never be powerful enough to attain eternal happiness.
However, the above process can ensure maximizing our happiness to a great extent.

It is not possible to feel happy all the time. Life has it's highs, and it lows. The only species that are happy all the time are Laughing Hyena's.

A very deep level of acceptance, taking care not to just 'resign' to fate, but enjoying the dynamic state of freedom to choose an action according to situation, can ensure happiness all the time !
A person with no expectations from life, but loves to totally give oneself, to pursue very high goals, would love the very effort, unmindful of results & consequences. Such a person has really 'bought' the freedom to be happy at all times !
