As mentioned before- we would go underground. We would have a very active bootleg trading community, much like the way it is in countries that have actually banned such music. We would have shows in dark, dank, underground clubs. The funny thing is that most metal fans prefer to be underground, we like the feeling of belonging to a smaller community of fans. We tend to not like when a band becomes famous among mainstream culture.
Contrary to what many here seem to believe- many metalheads are hard working and intelligent. We just happen to be very passionate about our music and it's not something we'd easily give up. We would risk imprisonment for something we love so much.
And I doubt many metalheads would become rap fans. Unlike most mainstream music fans- we are not so easily swayed. Many of us are loyal to our music as much as we are loyal to our freedom to choose what we listen to. If any metal fans were to turn away from metal they'd most likely listen to rock or blues anyhow.

There would be A LOT of half deaf, middle aged outlaws. And quite a few kids wearing baggy skater pants hiding behind dumpsters, going "Psst! Hey man. Wanna score some Ozzy?"

I grew up going to Pantera shows myself. Damageplan, Dime and Vinnie's band following the loss of life of Pantera. "New got here across ability" is the album they made till now Dime's homicide. in case you pay attention to lyrics, it is extra helpful and encouraging than Pantera imho. The band Hellyeah, is Vinnie's recent undertaking. i've got continually enjoyed the "heavier" stuff myself and actually can not stand nickelback and radio "steel", ideally heavier than disturbed, drowning pool, korn, limp biskit, and so on. a number of my favorites you will possibly desire to look into: Sepultura, Soulfly, Black Label Society, Lamb of God, residing Sacrifice, Anthrax, Mudvayne, Sevendust, Corrosion of Conformity. i don't get into the emo hardcore stuff the little ones are into at the instant. Trivium is an exceedingly stable band besides.

My vinyl and CD collection would be worth an astronomical amount on the black market, and as I have digital copies of everything, I'd wait a few years, sell everything, and retire on a tropical island somewhere. I can't wait!

Well...I don't know why it would be outlawed, but I bet the metalheads would be incredibly pissed off, and they'd fight to have the law overturned.

Well, look at AC/DC... They're borderline metal, and yet they call themselves a rock 'n' roll band...
follow my train of thought?
