Sure can and currently do. Standard shifts give you more control over the vehicle as well as are tons more fun to drive. The only time they are a royal pain in the backside is during bumper-to-bumper rush hour traffic when you can't get out of first gear. Oh yeah, that and when the clutch burns out too, but that hasn't happened yet with me ... knock wood ...

Yeah! My brother taught me to drive and said you couldn't really know how to drive if you couldn't drive a stick shift. He also taught me how to change a tire for the same reason.

You know my boyfriend, was teaching me in an old volkswagon bug and i burned out the clutch!!!! Then about four years ago my husband was teaching me AGAIN, And I can never stop on a hill!!!!!! So no one get in back of me if I ever drive a stick again!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep. I had a 4 X 4 once- 5-speed , and I also had a Nissan King Cab, 5-speed. In a way, I like it better, except in traffic.
