Automobile-paint is more expensive than house-paint. I want to know if I could thin the house paint enough to run it through my paint gun and then apply automobile clear-coat afterwards. Will this work?

I painted a 1977 Chevy truck "rust-o-leum lamp black" with a compressor and a paint gun. It turned out like these cars with the whole flat black "rat rod" paint job. It looked good and lasted 2 years and eventually faded. If you just want color on an ugly *** beater, why not?

Spend the extra money so your car doesn't look like you took house paint, thinned it and sprayed it on your car. You would do better using cans of spray paint for metal.

AMAZING ; I am the only person that will tell you
YES , it is possible, very.
I will post a link of a site where a man used rustolium to paint his car. It came out great and like you said he thined it with mineral spirits and took time. rmember haste makes waste. he put about 6 coats on and had to sand and wet sand every time to prevent orange peel , goodluck.

You can use it.
You can even brush paint a car if you want.

But it will look horrible.

It might not matter in a workhorse truck, only driven inside a plantation for example.

Your really asking this question? You need counseling for drug use, lol. You might want to install vinyl siding on your car also, save the paint.
