No way, they are two totally different markets. It is not the same as the grape v. raisin debate or cucumber v. pickle. Prunes are used more to help the colon and digestive tract while raisins are generally more of a snack food seen in great classics like "ants on a log" or "oatmeal raisin cookies". Ultimately there really is no comparison and people most certainly should not be discriminating which dehydrated fruit one likes to eat.

Do you mean that the raisin-lovers will only eat french toast made from raisin bread instead of trying prune bread for french toast? Maybe it is because the two dried fruits are not interchangeable and not relevant at all to each other.

BTW, I saw "Ronnie mac douche" sucking on El Traidors prunes!
