I've broken a leg, an upper arm, fingers and toes but the most memorable was three ribs. I was lifting an 8" diameter by 12' long stilling well for a tide gage off of a piling, one foot on the deck of the boat and one on the top of the piling. A wave turned the boat as I lifted, and the stress on my body caused three ribs to break.
What makes it memorable is that a few nights later at the dinner table, I got the hiccups. Each time I'd hick I'd get stabbing pain in the side, and groan. That got my wife to laughing. She got me laughing which hurt as much as the hiccups. There I sat hiccuping, groaning, laughing, groaning etc. with the tears streaming.
I broke a finger (first on right hand) and popped it out of joint at the same time kedging a boat with a dead motor into the dock. The break healed but the finger was stuck straight out for a year and a half. A fellow at work I hadn't seen for a while, gripped my hand to shake, and popped the finger back into place. I let out a yell (an obscene one) and he jumped, but then I realized he'd fixed my finger and told him I'd build a little shrine right there.

Broke my ankle when I slipped off a step and twisted it. And just broke my finger a couple months ago. We have those old windows with the ropes inside and the rope snapped and the window slammed down on my fingertip. It blew up so quick and turned so many colors.... my language got pretty colorful too!
