I happen to use a real dictionary and not the one you find online. What I gathered from the dictionary is that the n-word is really an ignorant person. For example:
rhianna n
Kevin l
Michael H
John Smith
Daniel Carver
The Darkie
What do you think?

vladblutsauger - You know that words can have more than one meaning right? Good, then you know that the implied meaning must be discovered through context right? Then you know that it is not that black people "ignore" this usage, rather they take the implied meaning though context clues right? And you're further suggesting that black people somehow wrote the dictionary I'm looking at right now? NEXT!!!!

Yes it means ignorant person and or one who is not educated. At one time all women were n's and it was towards the end of the slavery times (don't quote me one the time span) that for some reason that I'm not too sure about blacks started using it to reference themselves and only themselves and bascially claimed the word.
But like I said during that time women were included regardless of her color.

The N-word (the language filter won't let me write it) is a corruption of the Spanish word "*****" that translates to mean "black". I am an Australian and I belive we have a similar practice here as you do in the states, When an Australian man calls another man a "Bastard" (pardon my language again (where is the language filter now???)) he is not trying to be insulting and it is a kind of good natured ribbing. I think that this might also be the case with black people in the USA.

i think you are right, according to most people it would simply be an ignorant or uneducated person regardless of race! i do get so tired of this argument.sometimes people use a word considered offensive by some as a greeting not just the n word either.people have to have something to b itch about! get over it my dearest friends and sisterinlaws and others and i greet one another with words of endearment that are different and likely offensive to some.but we mean no offense and none is taken.some people that is their only claim to fame, can you say Al Sharpton!

Ignorance and fear are the basis for all bigotry and racism. If something doesn't threaten someone, what need do they have to put it down? That's the reason I don't like spiders... they scare me!

Another score for Kelly4u2. I love the things you bring to this forum! And notice the racists who reply have nothing intellectual to say, they only have lame insults that they made up.

The "ignorant" usage is one that black people invented, and often ignore themselves when they hear YT using it (to them, anytime YT is using this word, it's racist).
