I poured Mrs. Farney's wassail into her plant. I hope it lived, but doubt it did.

Yeah. When I was a kid, it seemed my friends' moms always had MEATLOAF, and I just happen to HATE meatloaf. My Mom never cooked it. Because I hated it so. At friends' I would politely ruminate what I could and napkinize the rest.
And then there was Sundays at Granny's. We hurried over there before church let out so I could rescue the chicken and rice that she would have sitting out on the stove turning to poison while they were in church. I saved many lives that way.
Now there's my own mom, who doesn't seem to drain the ground beef any more. We try to intercept and do the cooking.

When I was 18 and having supper with my boyfriend at his parents' place, they often barbequed. One night his father burnt the steaks really badly. I managed to swallow not only all the charcoal but a lot of gristle as well. I hate fat and gristle so that was actually worse than the char.

Yes - something with goat cheese baked on it. I hate goat cheese. I cut it in half because I had a late lunch, ate half and took the rest home. Took me by surprise, because this person is a fabulous cook.

yea I was about 12.I was visiting my grandparents in South Carolina. We went to some woman's house she made breakfast for dinner. But she was making eggs and grits and that's one of my favorites. But this right here I couldn't hardly eat.My grandma kept grinning at me and I told her it was good and thanked her for the meal.I did eat everything on my plate. We stopped at McDonald's on the way home.I was glad to hear I was not the only one that didn't like it.

I kind of just put the bowl down somewhere and walked away and acted like it wasn't mine, even though I knew that they knew it was mine..... The rest of it was bareable so I ate it to be nice but I don't want to even talk about what was in that bowl!

Yep, but I was taught to eat it and shut up about it. I think they call this being polite.
