I am thinking about starting a business finding lost pets for pet owners. I was wondering what you would expect someone to charge for this kind of service? Would you hire someone to help you find your lost pet? Whats a reasonable fee?

well I would say I would personally not pay for this service. I have hired a psychic to find a pet that was hit by a car and ran away but that was different. It was $40.

I would say - you could say if you don't find their pet you don't charge. That would say something to me about your morality/ethics.

Perhaps the fee is greater depending on the amount of time a pet is lost.

I would hire someone if it had been 3 weeks and i couldn't find my pet on my own but then you would really need to be resourceful in developing a story about how you would help someone find a pet without giving away your secret for finding a pet lost that long.

Good luck with your idea - I reward the idea in theory.

No, I would not hire someone to find my lost pet.

I'm resourceful enough to find her on my own. Many pets find their way back home.
I would not take advantage of someone, during their time of sadness, when their pet is missing.

Personally, I would find the pet without charging a fee.

I know how I would feel if my beloved pet were missing and someone hit me up for money to find my pet. How unethical. Find another way to make money.

Personally, I probably wouldn't hire someone, but I would still tell as many people as possible and post up on lost pet websites...

Some people do use the service you are speaking of. Be aware, however, that most people who claim to do what you are saying are actually scammers who just take the money, so you need to be able to prove you are sincere when most people are scamming.

yea. why not. alot of people all have a sense of lost when they loose their pets. so think just charge based on the amount of money you need, like the price of the flyers, and depending on the customer. if they want the flyers in colour, then it will be more expensive. But i must warn you, alot of time is needed too.

I think people who have pets...should think of having a chip put inside their animal. you can usually have it done through your vet...this way if your pet is found and brought to animal shelter they can get info of owner...it can be quite expensive...anyone who live in the hudson valley of new york....there is a shelter doing this for only $16...they are in Saugerties..

i think price would vary on the time since the animal has been lost... but probably around like $15-$20 an hour
