If you are given two points (x1,y1) and (x2,y2) then the equation is y = [(y2-y1)/(x^2-x1)](x-x1) + y1. So just plug the values in, simplify and you have the answer.

For the 1st problem, you get:
y = [(-4-2)/(4-0)](x-0) + (-4)
y= -3x/2 -4

Now you do the rest.

1.Use y2-y1/x2-x1 for your slope
2.For you intercept write y=mx+b and plug in the y and x values of anyone of the two pairs and then plug in your slope. Isolate B.
3.Construct your equation putting your slope next to X and your intercept at the end.
