The news can be depressing if deaths like bridge collapses occur
Last year I followed the Canadian soldiers died needlessly
only if tragic news

Yes, especially since there is 24-hour news available. I just have to get up and walk away and concentrate on something else for a while.

yes, it does a little, to know what is going on around you is good. but to actually know is depressing. it just makes you think... wow that guy could have been me or wow that actually happened, imagine the pain or something like that. it is very depressing.
