Generally, baby beardies prefer crickets and mealworms for their first few months. They warm up to fruits and veggies as they get older.

When the dragon is older it will have to be about 80% veggies/fruits 20% crickets. Do not feed him broccoli, spinach, or Iceburg lettuce. What number of crickets are you giving him day-to-day/weekly? For those who decrease the amount of crickets you feed him he will be hungry and consume his veggies (often) My beardie is an extraordinarily picky eater, you just ought to are attempting the whole lot and in finding the matters he likes. My guy loves peas, kale, & bokchoy. Additionally attempt to give him fruits on top of his veggies after which he could by chance decide upon up some veggies, discovering that after he's tasted it he likes it. An extra thing I did to get my guy to consume his veggies was once to throw a pea (making him believe it was once a cricket) and he would chase it and consume it, now he's entirely addicted lol My beardie will not eat his veggies/fruits if they aren't finely chopped. Possibly you don't seem to be reducing them small enough? Or might be he wants better portions? You may also no longer have the correct style of UVB bulb, whcih may be making him reluctant to eat his veggies/fruits. That you may try cooking the veggies (boil it in water) and he might like it better then. You can additionally give him pinky mice as a snack (once he's an grownup) i have chosen not to, but it surely's a option you've gotten. You rather must work with him and be sufferer, ultimately you'll find whatever he likes and the best way he likes it served/chopped.

She should be fed small crickets, no bigger than the space between her eyes. Mealworms are not good for beardies--they can cause impactions and aren't very nutritious for them. Baby beardies should be offered a fresh salad every day to get them used to them, but they don't always eat salad until they are older. Don't give up trying, they eventually will. If you just got her, the stress of moving will affect her appetite for several days. It won't be long before she is eating up to 100 crickets a day (which is why you want to order them online in bulk--they get expensive1!). No sand substrate, especially for babies. Temps at 105F under basking area (use digital indoor/outdoor themometer with probe--other kinds very inaccurate). UVB on for 12 hours also, and within 12 inches of basking area. Here are a couple of good websites for lots more info:

p.s. Be sure to have a reptile knowledgeable vet check her for parasites--a big health problem in beardies! Mine came with 3 different ones from the pet store. They can really affect appetite.

the crickets might be to big, my dragon didnt start to eat veggies until she was about 4 months old, just keep offering them to it and eventually it will eat. keep its diet balanced with different variaties of fruits and veggies, dont feed it too many meal worms the shell will impact it. another thing i feed mine is Kaytee dragon food, sprinkled with a little calcuim supliment.(T REX)

Finely chop the fruits and veggies. It should come natural to them. Mine ate hers like it was going out of style Are you feeding her small or large crickets?
