"SEOUL, South Korea - South Korea's frustration over the plight of Christian volunteers seized by the Taliban is starting to focus on the United States, a frequent target of resentment here."

Why are they mad at us? I understand that they may be frustrated that they can't get their hostages home. I understand that our policies and their policies may not always be the same 100% of the time. I get that.

But they are frustrated with us??? How many of their people did we kidnap? Did we somehow help the terrorists find these South Koreans and drive the getaway car?? If you want to be angry and frustrated, please focus that energy on where it belongs: the people who actually kidnapped your countrymen.

The world needs somewhere to blame for their troubles. Why not the US? Don't forget South Korea the shame you felt when you found out the Virginia Tech shooter was South Korean. We took every effort to make sure there was no serious backlash against the South Koreans afterwards, yet when THEIR country has hostages taken in Iraq, it's somehow our fault.

I haven't forgotten! 4-16-2007

The South Koreans are upset by what they term as the United States’ lack of flexibility in dealing with the hostage situation. The rest of the article that you quoted from explains reasons why the South Koreans have developed these feelings of anger towards the US..

What the hell are Christians doing in Taliban Country to begin with. They are asking for it. They make up 8% of the South Korean population.

Just an interesting note I came across. The Swastika is a popular symbol of budhist temple in S. Korea, it signifies love not hate and can be seen throughout the country.

They are mad at us because we've positioned ourselves as the world's police force, and the final authority that approves or disapproves of any action in the Middle East.

It's not rational or logical -- either for the people in the US making those claims, or the South Koreans for listening to them.

You play with fire, you get burnt.
Perhaps some of the real blame (aside from the kidnappers) belongs to the delusional Christian volunteers who ventured into the lions' den voluntarily......you think that was very intelligent?

i'm by using training a mathematician, and that i application desktops. i take advantage of good judgment every day. I for this reason be responsive to its limits. good judgment can coach basically what's interior the regulations of its postulates -- and can't coach each and every thing lined by using those postulates. apart from, what maximum persons call "good judgment" is in basic terms Aristotelian binary good judgment ... a probable helpful (because of the fact it is so common) yet critically constrained device. It assumes, working example, that basically "actual" and "fake" exist -- it would not know the possibility of "neither" or "the two." yet we bump into "the two actual and fake" and we bump into "neither actual nor fake" every day. you do no longer think of so? tell me: Is it actual you're like your father? Or is it actual you're like your mom? What you actual need to ask, however, is why human beings hate reason. the respond is: reason leads them to an answer they do in contrast to. faith leads them to an answer they do like. Which could desire to they choose?

They should be frustrated with the Christian religion that they would be so foolish to go there in the first place.
