There are so many great movies based off history, or stories that were supposedly from history. Troy, Kingdom of Heaven, Ned Kelly, all those great movies. What historical event, or story, would you like to see turned into a movie? Something that has not been recognized enough maybe? Or something that no one really sees as this big deal? What do you think?

I would like to see the events leading up to Martin Luther translating the bible from Latin to German in Wartenburg Castle. And the repercussions that immediately followed. I'm an atheist, but I find this topic fascinating and it seems to be just another historical fact. However, Martin Luther would be responsible for changing all of Europe; Ireland and the UK are still settling down over this.

Great question, by the way.

Well, I would like to see an accurate representation of the making of the USC and how the 55 men arrived at a compromise that formed the strongest and longest lasting democracy in the world.

I know it is not an action flick, but the debates on the issues of the time would certainly be dramatic and it is something that most people, except for constitutional scholars, have never delved into deeply.

The Battle of Dien Bien Phu. It showed how strong will can move artillery pieces up mountainous terrain & how the French forces suffered due to lack of concern & proper planning by their commanders in Saigon.

It's almost always poor planning & incompetence on the part of the higher-ups that cause those down the chain to suffer.

If I thought that it would be done with a fair amount of accuracy, then I'd like to see the battle of Kadesh, in 1286 BC. It was probably one of the largest chariot battles in history, and the Egyptians and the Hittites fought to a draw, although both sides claimed victory once they got home.

I want an historically accurate movie about the so-called Battle of the Bulge, with correct tanks on both sides, all done with good CGI (better than your average Military Channel special!) and decent actors.

I also want one on the Battle of Kursk, the biggest tank battle of all time.

And one on Trafalgar, as long as we're having CGI battle-fests!

The breakup of the USSR. Tens of millions of people became free, most through non-violence. More people need to learn that securing freedom does not require war.
