An amusement park will probably be. Disney World has the safest rides in the world. But the only time you'll die on a ride at either will be a freak 1/10,000 chance accident.

Amusement Parks have safer rides than fairs. Remember that Amusement Parks have entire teams of employees devoted to ride maintenance, ride testing, ride cleaning, and so on and so forth. Something else to keep in mind: many fairs "pop up" over night and "pop down" just as easily. Anything that is that portable has the potential to be extremely dangerous. Amusement Parks on the other hand generally have rides with strong foundations and are meant to be used by a large number of people continuously. Fair rides are generally tested for a smaller number of people and lower weight limits.

I would NEVER and I emphasize NEVER ride on fair rides, they are clearly unsafe. Disney and other AMUSEMENT parks have strict guidelines with administration which make sure they follow the rules, these little fair rides that come in on 18 wheelers are not safe. And do you think those people really follow the rules?

Fair's are dodgy and untrustworthy. Especially on the first night which everyone in my area calls 'death night'...
Amusement parks, like everyone has said, are way safer.

no way is a fair's rides safer than a permanent theme parks rides. Start by looking at who is running the rides at the fair. Also the rides are portable, who maintains them and who inspects them? A permanent theme park has a maintenance staff and rides are inspected daily by park staff and quite often by state officials, you can view those documents by request at a theme park.

NO! Amusement parks have specialized maintenance people and sensors on every ride to make sure every ride is safe. Fairs have Joe-dirt like redneck hillbillies poking rides with sticks and chugging beer.
