Money from SSI is not counted toward income for the purposes of determining child support. SSD, however, may be counted toward income. It depends on the state and other circumstances. If you have primary custody of your children and have no other source of income, your ex spouse is employable (not disabled), its very unlikely that you would be required to pay child support.

He can get child support from you if you are on SSD, but you can't be forced to pay child support if you are on SSI. There is a difference. Check the state law.

You may share custody, but support is determined by who is the primary caregiver of the child. Where is their physical home? where do they go to school from? Which home are they in the majority of the time?
If you are not the person with primary, physical custody of the children, yes the child support will be taken from your source of income.

It relies upon on placement, no longer custody. in case you share custody, yet placement is with the mother, as a result she might desire to do each and every of the artwork and help, you would be required to help pay newborn help. on the different hand, if placement is with you, she could pay you. ultimately, in case you have shared placement, the place the youngster spends 50% of the time with you and 50% of the time with the mother, when you consider which you're the two looking after fifty% of the value of elevating the youngster, there might desire to be no choose for for charge to the different guy or woman. in spite of the undeniable fact that, that's continually superb to make sure that any settlement reached by utilising the events is formalized in writing and written as an order of the courtroom in case you 2 come to an settlement. in any different case, the courtroom might make its very own determination later in accordance with a petition by utilising the two the mother or you or the equivalent of the branch of youngster help Enforcement on your section. stable success!

SSD is taxable? If so, they can probably take support... don't you already get an extra benefit for the kids? if not, they should have been included on your application as dependents...
maybe talk to an attorney about it?
SSI isn't taxable, and no they can't take any of it for child support.

If a judge declares that support must be paid, then regardless of whether you are on SSD or not the children always come first.
