Yes, I am...I don't like it, because when I was younger I would get really lonely and I always envied my friends who had siblings...I always wanted to have 5 or 6 brothers or sisters. I guess the upside is I never had to compete for attention from my parents and got pretty much anything I wanted.

I grew up as an only child but I have sisters (on my Dad's side) that I didn't grow up with so technically I am an only child.
When I was younger I used to wonder about what it would be like to have a sibling but I never felt left out or unhappy. I think being an only child is the reason that I spawned an active imagination. I know so many people that are uncomfortable being alone, sitting in silence or being themselves and I think to myself sometimes I'm glad I'm an only child as I don't typically have those worries in my life. I do however, worry about when my parents depart that I will have no one really to shoulder the grief with but I'm sure that God will guide me when the time comes (p.s. I'm not a bible basher just spiritual).
Other than that I like being an only child and my crow fills any possible void left in my life.

I am an only child and I must admit it has its perks but also its downfalls. Some of the perks include being the center of attention. Once you ask for something - it is definite that you will be heard and granted your request. At least I get to be only daughter, niece, granddaughter........
As an only child, you will always be your parents favourite and on one can take that place from you.
However, the downfall is that sometimes, I would like to be left alone and not be the center of everything.
Being the only child, all eyes are on you and if you mess up more than one hands fall.
It is alot of pressure because your parents put their all into you and if you mess up it like you tear their heart to pieces - worse than if you were one of 4 siblings. I think you get what I mean.
But overalll it is good but the reality of being an only child can sometimes really get to you.
What can I say - there will be good and bad days!

Yes. =)
Well...I don't have to worry about them borrowing my stuff and/or fighting with them...and I get a lot of attention from my parents.
I don't dislike anything actually lol...but when I was little I disliked being an only child because I was lonely.

I'm an only child of divorced parents, so growing up I literally had two of everything. Two rooms, two bathrooms, two sets of friends, two birthdays, two Christmases.
I didn't lack for family companionship because I have 21 first cousins. But now that I am older I do realize I have issues with sharing since I never had to growing up.

No--1 girl and 1 boy in my family. It might have been nice to be an only child since we fought most of the time. But when you get older, it usually gets nicer.

Only child for my mother. I have a younger half sister through my dad.
But being an only child through my mom, I don't have to share anything especially her love.

I hate to be a sad sack but I am now...I had an older brother but he died several years ago.....and it sucks in alot of ways...mostly when it comes to dealing w/aged parents. My father died about 6 years after my brother and now I look after my mother. I could sure use my brothers help and I miss him alot, I think of him everyday.
