YES!!! But once a telemarketer rang up and my friend was over my house for a sleep over and i told the telemarketer to hold on for 5 hours, 5 hours later we got back to the phone and he was still there and then he said: Would you like a new phone. And i said: Bye Bye chatterbox. lol.

I had one called me on an Easter Saturday!!! (not telstra though - but another phone company)
I COULD have told him off - and I did - but diplomatically.... Aren't I nice?

the real people don't annoy me as much as i annoy them. i always ask if there will be a free gift or a door prize for listening to them. or i pretend i don't speak english. sometimes i ask them about their underwear. i know they are only trying to do their job but you have to expect some off the wall stuff if you are a telemarketer.

Yes, they do. They called the other night 3 times in a row. I stopped answering the phone because I knew who was calling.

My son is now 6 so it doesn't work anymore but when he was 2 and 3 (before he could really talk well) I would just hand him the phone. He loved it and he would sit there and talk (or what he thought was talking) to them forever (he thought it was soooo cool that he got to talk on the phone, lol) so eventually they would just hang up.

They do, so I tell them that I am not interested and that I am hanging up the phone now and then I say goodbye. If they continue to give their spiel or leave a phone number- too bad- I'm hanging up anyway.

especially the aggressive jerky ones.
I have a little sympathy for the first timers that havent figured out yet their job sucks. I tried selling many yrs. ago to sell Olan Mills picture packages, it was horrible. I was fired after 2 wks. I couldnt sell nothing.

Nope, I actually enjoy receiving those phone calls cause I can crank them! My favorite one is when the call asking if I carry a master card, visa or Am ex and I'm like yes..

When they call I simply say "What Do You Need". Then I thank
them for the call and hang up. Far too often they call at
dinner time and talk over you, so after thanking them I just hang
up.
