Its all math. A few years ago we ran a 400 billion deficit.
Without raising taxes that deficit has shrunk to 200 billion.

The liberals would have just raised taxes another 200 billion and spend 400 billion. You would think they were wonderful
not realizing you just got screwed.

I say shift the budget to the States, from the Federal Government. i.e. lower federal taxes, the difference goes back to the states. No more suit in D.C. with some degree
telling a local State Governor how to spend the money.

Our founding Fathers always intended that the States would be in control. Not a Federal government.

I could go to Maryland and D.C. Virginia and eliminate 100,000 jobs and no one would notice. At least the other 48 states wouldn't.

No. That was a 'projected' surplus. And it was over many years. And it included the Social Security 'Trust Fund'. Congress has been using this deception for decades. If you don't believe it, look at the Federal Debt (that's how much we actually owe). It has grown EVERY year for decades. If you add in the Social Security Trust, then it shows a surplus many times, but that money is already promised in future benefits.

I doubt that much.... That would be between 50% and 70% of the total national debt at the time.

But, even when there wasn't a surplus, the budget was a least balanced, so the debt was not increasing.

Hmmm. If he had done his JOB - we wouldn't be in Iraq right now.

He lobbed a few bombs - but then didn't follow thru (maybe that's why the semen ended up on Monica's dress).

He should have done something back then. All of you jokers protesting now would have cheered him.....and the situation would have been exactly the same - just a different President.

I find it sickening that you defend him and his lack of action - yet you bash Bush for taking action.
