Disclaimer: I'm in my mid-50s now, a "geezer" in most people's eyes..
I am absolutely NOTHING like I was in high school. Zero.
When you're in high school you are still developing. But you are nothing like the person you will eventually become. In high school I had no athletic ability. In my 30s I studied martial arts and competed in local and regional tournaments, beating up lots of nice young people. In high school I never dated. In later years I went out with all sorts of women, to the point that, to my surprise, I was considered "popular."
In high school I graduated with barely a B average. I graduated from an expensive private university with a 3.97 GPA, at the top of the class.
If you are in high school now, you are little more than a shadow of the person you will become. Growing older involves many problems, but part of the fun of growing older is discovering all the ways that you have changed.
I wish I knew all of this when I was younger, but no one told me. But I'm telling you now. If you're in high school now, be of good cheer. Whatever problems you have now will disappear. New problems will appear, but a new you will also appear. You see yourself are you are now, but baby, you ain't seen nothin' yet! You are only in Chapter One, but the rest of the book has not been written. So go forth and write the rest of the book. Best wishes.

I am different, but the same also. I have grown up and can make better decisions. I have also lost my enthusiasm for life. Life is just hard.
